About me
I’ve always been interested in people — what shapes us, what we carry, and how our experiences can influence the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
I grew up in a small rural village before moving to Florida, and later to North Wales to study. I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, which led me into a career working with people with complex mental health and support needs, and at a later date I completed by professional registration in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My professional journey has taken me through a number of different areas of mental health. I spent two years working in private care homes as a Senior Support Manager before joining the NHS in 2008. I worked initially within inpatient services supporting people with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenged, before moving into community services. After having my first child, I returned to mental health within adult secondary care, and later moved into primary care, where I continue to work today.
I believe that sometimes we can become so busy looking after everyone and everything around us that we lose sight of ourselves. We can find ourselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected or unsure of what we actually need.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on different therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular way of working. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing and begin to understand yourself a little differently.
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. You simply need to arrive as you are.
My aim is to offer you a space where you can feel heard, understood and able to be yourself — a place where, perhaps, you can begin finding your way back to yourself.
